Austin Lindy Hop also makes food and cuisine recommendations of restaurants in Austin that are really good.  If you want to eat well and dance well, then take our recommended restaurants in Austin where you can get good food and cuisine and dining.  Zagat's gives you too many restaurant recommendations for food and dining.

Good Lindy Hop works up an appetite, and as a part of "work hard, play hard, live well" principle that drives us, we want to spread the word about some lesser known culinary gems in Austin.

We get absolutely no kickbacks or promotions.  We enjoy the unfettered freedom of making our own recommendations because this is OUR site, and we could not care less if we piss someone off by not including them or if you do not agree with our palates.

    Previous restaurants of the Month:

    Java Noodles (Indonesian)

Madam Mam's Noodles and More (Thai)

    House Park Barbecue (Texas Barbecue)

Old Pecan Street Cafe (American/French Old-World Bistro)

Mangia Pizza (Authentic, Deep-dish, Stuffed Chicago Pizza)

    Zen (Japanese Fast Food)

    This Month's Restaurant:

    Zax

Zax is a fairly new restaurant located just South of downtown on Barton Springs Road, just West of Congress.  (It is where the old "Al Capones" restaurant was located, next to Aussies, the bar with the beach volleyball courts in the back).  The environment is very nice, with finished concrete floors, wood-beamed ceilings, and a nice, modern style to it.  And the food is excellent.  Appetizers run from $6-$9, and entrees from $6 to $25, mostly ranging around $10.
