Dave Herrero (guitar, singer) is a young, local Austin Bluesman discovered by us at the cheap, run-down, Joe's Generic Bar on 6th Street one night as he was singing his rendition of "Trouble, Trouble, Trouble" un-miked and acapella in the audience.  Beyond merely having talent, he just seemed to downright enjoy belting out his Blues and injecting soul into his music.  I bought his CD, which was just a CD-R he had put together himself at the time to sell to customers.  He now apparently has his small record-label gig on Doc Blues Records.

Because he plays hard-driving Blues, the music appeals a bit to the Westie side of Lindy Hoppers.  But it is great stuff, nonetheless, and gives a local Austin musician a bit of a kick.  He not only has a deep, rich, booming Blues voice, but also plays a hard Blues electric guitar with a subtle touch.  Click Here for a link to a webpage where you can buy his CD, as well as listen to some samples.
